 Two major components of “living as a People of Hope” emerged with force during the ICCRS – RELaY conference held from the 23rd to the 27th of April 2008 at Sec, Czech. The first was communicated by the plenary speakers P. Raniero Cantalamessa, ofmcap (preacher to the papal household) and Peter Herbeck, (Vice President and Director of Missions for Renewal Ministries) who linked hope with the life-changing act of personally recognizing the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and the challenge of calling those around us to join in following Him. The second emerged as we exchanged with each other in the excellent TRACKS and WORKSHOPS; fellowshipped during meals; and received ministry from each other during times of worship – new friendships were begun and old ones strengthened. The conference renewed our conviction in this way that following Jesus Christ and experiencing deep fellowship in the Spirit are foundational to living as a People of Hope.
